Krynica

This is the most famous Polish spa town situated in the picturesque valley of the river Kryniczanka, at the foot of Parkowa Mount on sunny, southern slopes. The proximity to Beskid Niski and Sądecki Mountains makes it a perfect starting point for travelers, who prefer traditional tourism.

Numerous ski lifts invite fans of classic and alpine skiing. In the air in Krynica there are phytoncides – essential oils that have an immune and germicidal action. Krynica attracts beautiful alpine architecture of residential buildings, rest houses and a  unique building of the Promenade – the centre of the health resort. Krynica is also famous for mineral medicinal waters, the concert bowl, its Old and New Spa House, historic churches and Eastern Orthodox churches on The Małopolska Wooden Architecture Route.

There are two cable railways: the oldest cable-car to Parkowa Mount and the youngest gondola cable to Jaworzyna Mount.

Krynica is a well-known meeting place for music lovers at the annual Jan Kiepura Festival, Tourist Songs Festival, Christian Music Festival as well as for Nikifor’s paintings lovers. Krynica is nicknamed Polish Davos because of the debates of politicians and businessmen at Economic Forum Poland-East.
